The Reidsville Family YMCA traditionally offers over 40 group exercise classes a week with a wide variety of all levels to suit individual needs. Please see the links to schedules and class descriptions below. These classes are free to all Reidsville Y members, with the exception of those noted. If you have any questions regarding any of the Group Exercise classes, please do not hesitate to contact the front desk.
Participants must be at least 14 years old to participate in any of the aerobic, yoga, or cycle classes. Teen certification is held monthly at the Y. This class is free but requires pre-registration at the front desk.
BODY BURN: Join Emily in this calorie burning 30 minute intense circuit workout! This workout uses the whole body and hand weights to give maximum results in minimum time. You will never do the same exercise more than once in a workout. Please click on the link below for more details!
OM GLUTES - Join Ginny, as she puts you through a bottom shaping, leg burning, and strength training workout! Functionally train the lower body to strengthen and tighten all the muscles of the legs and especially the GLUTES. Please click on the link below for more details!
SPECIAL EXERCISE CLASSES
INSANITY- Predesigned format of high intensity anaerobic interval training designed with athletic drills and modifications to accommodate various fitness levels and result in high caloric burn and cardiovascular fitness gains.
Z-ZUMBA: The Zumba workout fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away.
ZUMBA GOLD: This low impact option to the regular Zumba® class is a great mix of fun and fitness!
PROGRAMS AND BOOTCAMPS
HIIT Bootcamp uses intense intervals and quick burst of exercise followed by short and active recovery periods. This training will allow you to get your heart rate up while burning fat in less time. Work with Ginny or Sabrina for 6 weeks to keep the weight off during the holiday season. Please click on the link below for more details!
TAE KWON DO
The Y also has Tae Kwon Do classes available for both children (ages 5 and up) and adult. Henry Davidson, from the Kim School of Tae Kwon Do, is the instructor. Henry is a 4th Degree Black Belt who has been certified as an International Grandmaster. Classes include basics and forms, self defense, and kicking and sparring.
Classes are offered on Monday and Thursday nights from 6:30 pm until 8:00.
